Where do you find comfort? What an introspective question for a Monday morning. Taking a second to think about all the things that have brought me comfort in my life there is one that stands out almost immediately.
MUSIC.
You see, music can transcend those who are willing into another reality: one that you don’t have to worry, stress, or fear. You move how you want and when you want, closing your eyes, fearing not even the slightest of judgments.
Truth be told, nobody else goes where I do when I listen to music, and if by chance they did, well, then they too would be free with me, fearing nothing and experiencing everything. From the waves of sound tickling their eardrums to the feeling of their own body moving through space and time, and the beating of their own heart pounding against their chest.
There is a certain type of feeling that overcomes you when you start to give yourself to a compilation of perfectly placed notes, experiencing it how you think it was meant to be experienced. It’s almost freeing in itself. It’s your reality, where anything goes for those three to four minutes, maybe more if you’re lucky.
It could be the soundtrack to your life, the moment of climax, or a more somber reflection. It doesn’t matter because for those three to four minutes the time is yours. So when asked where I find comfort, you could say music is only the beginning.

This makes so much sense and I love it! Dope song choice. Music has been a conduit for peace in my life, especially since I’ve gotten out of the military. I really appreciate reading this and knowing that there are people who think the same way I do!
